As a pediatric occupational therapist, a large part of my career has been working with children and families challenged by sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and other related neurodevelopmental disorders. Many of these children do not have a diagnosis and others with the diagnosis come to me without any hope for help. This is why my emphasis is on helping parents and other professionals UNDERSTAND the “WHY” this is happening to my child.
1:1 Therapy
Everyone has an occupation, or job, to do. A kid’s occupation is to grow, learn, do schoolwork, and play. Children with difficulties achieving age-appropriate developmental milestones or who show signs of developmental delays might need an occupational therapy evaluation.

1:1 Consultation
Some parents and other professionals need help with children’s:
- behavior (biting, pushing, throwing him/herself on the floor, having constant tantrums, being defiant among others at home or at school)
- social skills (playing appropriately with other children)
- play skills (knowing how to initiate an activity, play alone, play with others, sharing, taking turns…)
- gross motor and fine motor skills (such as running, jumping, climbing, writing…)
- independence of activities of daily living (eating, dressing, brushing teeth, doing homework independently)
